Default power wire

where would be the best place to run my power wire for my amp? i was thinking about running in toward the back from the battery, accross to the driver's side, then through the firewall there. Is this the best place to put it? Where has everyone else been running their power wire?

would be really helpful if we knew what year your truck was. On 2nd Gens, there is a grommet on pass side between feet, under the carpet. Antenna wire comes through the same grommet, then run it down the pass side. on drivers side, if its a small gauge wire, you can prob squeeze it through the hood pull grommet.

On first Gens, there is an antenna grommet on same side, but a lil higher in the dash.

I did the same thing, I just made a hole right above the back of the wall right beside wheel well then under the carpet. On my 4door.

i have the wire ran for my 91, but it was there when i bought it so i'm not sure where that one was ran. I'm seeing where i can put it on my 96-when i bought it they had it ran on the inside of the fendor, down the door hinge and under the door trim....not a good place for the power wire but it seems like it is hard to get to everything else....i'll take a look at the suggestions when it is light out

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT run power wire through fender and down the door hinge. if that wire moves and gets pinced, then things start to smoke. pull back the carpet on the pass side about a foot, you will see the large grommet about where your left foot would be if you were sitting in the seat. RUN through there.

I also donot suggest running wire on the outside of your car. Too many ways to get it snagged on something, and rubbing on metal.
