Yes you can crestwood. I got my blazer a few days ago and the rear speakers were dead. I cut the stock connector off and just wired a set of pioneer speakers up. Worked great. Was about 40 bux for the speakers at best buy.

Default A couple heads up on these repairs

I've had the same speaker, left rear door, go bad in my 98 and now my 95. Here are some things to watch for.

Using a volt meter is useless for some reason. I used a volt meter to check the voltage at the plug to the speaker. I never could get a reading (????). However, when I used a pair of headphones, and jumpered the connections to the pins in the speaker plug I get sound. So either the voltage is miniscule or something is different. Haven't figured that.

When trying to get the speakers out (95-98 models at least) be careful getting the cone off. I uncrewed the speaker from the cone only to find that I needed to get the cone off to get to the connector. When I tried to pry the rivets out I ended up breaking the edges of the cone so now I either have to drill new holes or get a new cone from pick a part. Best bet, drill the rivets out.

I just stripped the ends of the wires and hooked up a speaker wire and they work fine

I have a 4-door '97 Blazer and all four speakers just stopped working. At first I thought it was the radio, but it was not. So I removed the door panels from all four doors and connected an external speaker, one at a time, to each one. To my amazement all four speakers were bad... simulataneously. $28/pair for speakers at Wal-Mart and now everything works fine.

Doesn't make any sense to me but whatever it gave me an excuses to get new speaker.
how do you remove the rear panels to get to the speakers, i've looked in other places but can't find anything about it.

There are screws holding the trim panel around the window on the inside (two) then the one towords the outside of the door just pops off, there are two screws under a panel where u put your hand to pull the door closed, one in the panel under the handle, then u just pry it off carefully, trying not to break the tree clips

Hi, I've spent hours looking for this info and haven't found it so sorry if it's covered somewhere.. My '97 4-door 4x4 Blazer has both rear speakers not working, and the front right door speaker (and tweeter) not working. I want to replace all, without spending much, but I don't understand why the front door speakers are 4 Ohms and the rear speakers are 9.5 Ohms, and how that affects the speakers I should buy to replace them. Can someone knowledgeable explain pls? Can I just buy any brand of replacement speakers (which are what, 4 Ohms for cars, I think.... vs 8 Ohms for home stereo speakers) and stick them in either front or rear, or what do I need to do? I don't want any to sound like crap, I could live with just the fronts if both worked well. Thanks in advance..

Default 2001 LT: I have no sound in the rear speakers

I have a 2001 and the front speakers work fine, but I have no sound in the rear. If I fade it all the way to the rear, I have no sound. Has anyone figured this out yet? thanks in advance,,,New Member

Yea... 9 times out of ten it is blown rear speakers. most of the speakers I take out of Blazers have no surround left ( the flexible trim around the outside of the speaker). they just deteriorate to nothing. Then they blow from over excursion pretty fast. $50 6.5" coaxes sound fine.
