Just to put it out there.....SonicElectronix Rocks!!!! Lets you compare all kinds of electronics and lets you see what you going to get before you order. You can get great amps for cheap....back to topic though lol, what exactly is that you want deep loud bass or just something that rocks the cabin start with that. Meaning do you want to have Voice and bass at the same time or just heart pounding bass that dont even let you hear the music. Some people like that that's why i ask. But anyways what kind of HU do you have? You might have to upgrade also. If its not this is that you know lol.

I guess in the end I'd like something to rock the cabin, but I don't want it to overpower the music. I want nice hard bass but not like those cars that roll by and all you hear is bass, I'd like a mixture of both. I have a Pioneer deh-3300ub.
I can't exchange the speakers because the 4 ohm versions aren't carried in stores so I'm stuck with these.

you could just return it and get 2 cvr 15s dual 4 for 270 or get 2 cvr 12s dual 4 for 170 on sonic electronix.com

Would 1000w at 1ohm really make much more difference than 1000w at 2ohm? I know it would be less resistance but what are other benefits?
I can get the 10cvr122 and the kicker 1000.1dx for about $300 total. This would be 1000w at 2 ohms, the speakers are 400rms so I would obviously have to be careful. I can't get the bre1100.1d and 10cvr124 for a total of about $450. This would be 1100rms at 1 ohm. I feel that the higher power would put them at risk, and the extra $150 would not really be worth the difference. Also with the kicker amp I'd have 4 years of in store replacement at bestbuy. Thoughts?

I finally got everything and installed it and it sounds amazing. These crv's are amazing, when I first wired it up I didn't wire it up correctly so only one voice coil was wired up on each, and those were paralleled so the final connection to the amp was 1 ohm, well each voice coil is only 200w rms so who knows how much they were taking because the amp is 1000w @ 2ohms but I quickly figured out that they were wired wrong but they didn't blow or even damage in the slightest bit.

you gotta remember that kicker product is under rated. i had 1200 rms running to 2 15 comps and there only rated at 250rms each so i had 1200 rms running when it was supposed to be 500rms.

the only issue I am having now is trying to set the gain. I tried using my digital multi meter but I don't think it can read vac so that isn't working. For now I have it set to 1/2 of the full gain. I had one more question, it is defiantly loud but it's really rattly, if I'm looking for more boom or umph, best way I can describe it, what are somethings I should change in the enclosure design? Right now my outside dimensions are 38" x 14" x 16", with a divider inside.
