Default subwoofer problem

ok, i got my replacement cartridge back from memphis, i blew up my last one, and they sent me the new 2008 model one. its nicer looking, better sound, and louder, but it doesnt fit onto the 2007 and older magnet! the memphis tech said it does fit, and i double checked and it doesnt. now the magnet has a cover over it, like 1/4 thick rubber, and it drops down about a half inch or so and than flares out. like if i remove the rubber it would fit. but i dont want to cut the rubber off and not have it fit. anyone have this problem or know what to do? thank you guys!

Breaking it in is easy, start it off at half the rated power and increase by 10% every two-three days until you're pushing them hard.
