Default Wiring power accessories

I have purchased a Harmon/Kardon Drive+Play to add iPod control to my the stereo on my 2002, and a 9-pin RCA auxiliary wiring harness to connect the audio. I have the control and screen hooked up, and will easily take care of the audio when the part arrives. I could wire the power to a cigarette lighter, but I would like it to turn off when the car turns off, so I need to wire it in.

My question now is how to wire in the power circuitry. The power cable has three wires, "battery," "ignition," and "ground." Where do I need to rout the wires and solder the connections?

Or, is there a way to have the power outlets only activate with the ignition?

just run a line up to the factory radio and there are your power, ground and switched power. Fuse the 12v constant though (yellow) that is exactly how I install them.(have done about 50 thus far!

The 12V constant wire already has a fuse wired inline, so that is no problem. I found the color codes above. To what do I solder these connections? Just to the same connection the stereo's wires make to the harness?

for 12v constant on your Factory radio, tag the orange at the radio. for the switched, you will have to tag the orange in the ignition switch bundle. ground is black

I am installing the iPod interface's brain unit under the center console. Is it okay to wire the ground under one of the exposed bolts just beyond the carpet coverage beneath the armrest?
