I think you left off when you added the rear spare tire swing gate. How much work was it to install it?

not that bad other than you need small fingers to get the nuts threaded. It was actually easier than I thought it would be. It doesn't need to be reinforced either with all 6 bolts in me and my buddy can stand on it

That's good to hear. I've seen a few at the salvage yard, maybe i'll make this a future project.

that'd be cool especially if you got a matching 20" rim for the rack

Very nice, lil too much black for my tastes but it does look good the way you have it done. Question though, does the blade of the shovel rest on the roof or do you have something under it? Even if it's off the roof, going off road & even ON road with potholes etc it could bounce against the roof.

Just noticed the receiver tow hook ... excellent!!! I love mine, very functional & looks mean lol

didn't think about the shovel hitting the roof. I'll have to put something there

Yeah I'd hate to think what it could do to the roof if/when it bounces.
Maybe see about making the restraints so they hold it UP an inch? Or zip tie some plastic to the top of where the shaft closest to the blade is to elevate it.
Either way, 1st few bumps you'll hear it lol

Why not just make a sleeve to fit around the blade of the shovel and just do that?

That's funny, I don't see all that much black, I mostly see mud. LOL
