hey guys been a bit since i posted on my thread and i have updates of the snorkle and some more mods ive gotten done to it. heres some pics of the snorkle head and the finished product.

heres the finished product

i had my friend make me up a set of custom shackles that were almost like revoler. my old shackles limited me from flex and it maxed out my s10 rear leafs.

installed look

heres the view of how she sits now

i had relocated my rear military jerry can to the side of the tire and had my friend make a custom cb whip antenna mount

heres the finished look after i gravel gaurded it to protect the welds from rust

after the fabrication and shackles were done we had a hudge storm and it blew over alot of trees and this one was half a tree that was blocking a side road alot of ppl were using and were trying to squeeze by so i did my good deed for the day and ended up using the tow strap to tow it out of the way so ppl can use the road. it looks smaller in the pic but it had to weight at least 4 tons the leafs block the main trunk of it

after that was all done i found a construction site and wanted to test my flex on the new shackles. it was impressive but i need limit straps.

i had got some goodies today in the mail and finnaly did some more work today on the truck, fresh oil change, new outter tie rod,new rear frame shackle bushings and installed energy suspension upper control arm bump stops and rear energy suspension shock bushings
heres the upper control arm bushings i had to modify them slightly to make them work proper

heres the shock bushings, i must say these are a pain in the butt to install

i have also orderd some more small zombie stickers to complete the theme of the truck and a set of window lights that are cree 4 inch l.e.d spot lights

i have been wanting to do a custom exhaust for sometime now as mine was leaking and was too small of pipe so today was the day i took it to the local muffler shop and had them replace the cat with a magaflow 2.5 inch inlet and outlet with my used stainsless steel mangaflow muffler with 2.5 inch pipe tucked up closer to the body
u can also see the urithane bushings in the shock

Is there a function to the front bumper design? I've seen them a few times but most aren't heavy enough to serve a purpose I can think of.

the front bumper design has helped me from steep angles comming down hills and for brush and small trees. i can use it as a small crane as well

That's only an 1/8" wall isn't it? I wouldn't have thought that would hold up as a slide with that length. Do you ever hang up on the winch using that bar as such?
That said I've got a lot of respect for guys willing to fabricate their own gear.

i actually used .120 dom tubing for the front stinger as regular steel would bend or break under stress. ive gotten hung up on the winch 2 times before the stinger now i slide off deep revens it helps for alot of things and it also looks bad ***

Im surprised it makes a difference for you with the tow points and winch in front/below the stinger, good to know. If this is the same bumper you made in post 37, I dont think it's DOM. DOM doesn't have a raised seam on the inner wall. The seam is flattened out in the final process by the mandrel. I don't think I've ever seen galvanized DOM either.

so ive had some time latley and some funds and decided to get busy and start fabricating some heavy duty offroad parts. i purchased a synergy 1 ton idler arm bracket and a moog idler arm assembly with moog idler arm from a 2002 avalanche. i also went to tmr customs and orderd up some dom tubing and a set of chromoly heim joints with misalighment spacers, saftey washers and a quick dissconnect fire extingusher clamp i am gonna be removing the inner and outer tie rods as offroading through rocks makes the parts very prone to failure and break and wanted something alot stronger and safer. here is pics of the idler arm bracket

here is the tmr customs heim joints and parts

i will be taking more pics of the build when i start making the custom tie rods and centre shaft.
i will also be reproducing the 1 ton idler arm bracket to sell to a few friends and if anyone else wants one. today i decided to make a cheap but good mod to have incase i blow a u joint. i made a driveshaft saftey loop
