So I dropped my dr44g alternator off for a rebuild and they have a 250amp dr44g for 350 then my brother told me to search on rockauto for a 2001 gmc 1500 alternator and I came up with this bad boy cheaper.

So looks like I’m doing a rockauto order instead it’s a direct bolt on and right plug even hoping it can handle the winch better

Yes I am running that one on mine. you will need a belt 1 " longer. i put my photos and part numbers in the electric section. I have been happy with mine. I actually have noticed a difference with the solenoid door poppers, no kidding.

I was running a 145amp dr44g which is the same size and my belt was just big enough for it so should have to change belts but I’m glad it works that good cause I have electric fans and u really notice the draw when they start up

So last night my alternator started going it can’t keep up with the heater and my efans and headlights while idling. So didn’t really have the funds for it but the 253amp alternator will be here Thursday and I placed and order for a yellow top battery for 319 so have it all installed by the end of the week
