dude since u have a sfa might as well upgrade to the dana 44 front and a chevy 14 bolt rear end since its wicked and super strong. upgrade the carrier berrings and shafts and add some diff gaurds and ur set to go.

That D44 would give you the option of installing locking hubs! More MPG, less worn parts, repackable wheel bearings. Nice!

either way ...
it will be be nice to have the piece of mind with the lockouts... I have about an hour drive to my local wheeling spot. I could blow the front diff to smithereens on the trail, unlock the hubs and drive home.

I haven't updated this in a long time, so I'll try to remember what I've changed... and give you guys an update, here goes...
I swapped in Alcan front leafs and ended up building them into a bastard pack with the old skyjackers, they gave me a much better front shackle angle and flex like mad.
So much that i cut my front shock setup out, and have yet to get front shocks back in it. With the new springs I was loosing out on about 3 inches of droop because the shocks weren't long enough. (topped out in above pic) They also had a terrible angle and rubbed the tire and hit the inner C during compression. I bought ford f250 shock towers that Im going to weld up soon...
I got a Jeep front drive shaft in it only to realize that it didn't have enough slip travel and fell apart when flexing. On Friday i ordered a full spline long travel (6.5" slip) shaft from Carolina Driveline. I used them for the front shaft on my girls lifted Grand Cherokee with good results. Hopefully ill have no issues with that.
Im current waiting on the shaft to mock up my shocks, and I may end up putting a limiting strap on the driverside to keep it from binding on full droop. Also could probably use some bump stops.
What else....
Most guys ditch the oil cooler and mount the oil filter to the block when they SAS. I didn't like the idea of deleting the cooler, so I swapped over to a 2wd oil cooler setup today. My spin on getting rid of the remote filter mount.
Otherwise Ive been driving the wheels off it, here are some more pics.

beautiful truck. thats how they should have came from the factory.
i too ditched the oil cooler/relocation assembly just cause every line and connection was leaking on it. so it was just way cheaper to buy the $7 screw in part from the dealer then replacing all that mess, but not a bad idea to keep it

Today I threw in the new front shaft and took some measurements... looks like it has about 1" of usable extension left at full droop. Also i was afraid it was going to bind at the t-case, but it looks like i have a more than a couple inches of down travel to spare there as well. I'm happy. Now i can get some shocks mocked up and not have to worry about limiting the down travel like i thought i would.
