Let’s put a 5.3 in it
Drove it to work finally. No gauges because I’m no good at reading schematic. Runs good but transmission feels funny and I have an exhaust leak passenger side of truck. It was super tight the way the header ran. I’m spooked to give it more than a 1/4 throttle. But yeah it’s a one wheel peeler now!! Guess I’ll try to sypher out how to get gushes to work.
This is pretty cool. I have it running. It’s a little beast. Been beating on it every now and again and it’s surprising. Oddly enough at 28 psi in the tires it does a little burn out. But seems to just hook up and go. Is there a way to do video here?
i used a swap in a box kit from summit it came with headers and oil pan,the oil pan is made by trans dapt, but heres the deal with mine it didnt come with a place for the oil filter so it needed a oil filter relocater, and i tried the trans dapt one and i could not get it to stop leaking and read several threads online where no one could get it to stop leaking so i bought a very expensive one it was like 200.00 from Milodon its bad ***,not a single leak.but if you can get the trans dapt with a regular oil filter location,i dont think it hit anything.i just didnt notice mine had a relocator until i had done a lot of work haha.but its cool its 36 inches long so i ran it to the front right behind the bumper so it cools, and its super easy to get to.
also some things that helped big time
i bought the ac condensor relocator
the steering shaft without a rag joint and the ac evaporator side cover
these parts and more from current performance made the swap work
although with the headers,i went with rubber motor mounts instead of polyurthane so the header still hit the steering
so i did what you have to do and took a really big f-n hammer and put a dent in it and it worked.
they have a lot of stuff to help.i put a 3 core radiator in mine by trimming the core support since i bought the condensor relocation kit
and the ac hoses and ac compressor all line up and fit together and work.
all from cpw.
