Well, Im done for this weekend. The body lift is on and tourqued down. I dont know how much I cranked the bars, but I eyeballed the alignment and there is still some adjustment outwards on the upper arms...? I thought I would have to slot them but I guess not. Ill get the alignment guy to balance them out when it goes for the inspection.

I stenciled the new shocks, used a paint pen to fill them in with black and peeled the sticker off.

STILL TO DO THIS WEEK:
-bend the oil cooler lines away from the fan more, the lift pulled them awfully close to the fan, I might have to cut them and put some fittings on to legnthen them. then hook em back up to the rad.
-put the addition in the gas filler neck to legnthen it.
-put the extention in the shift linkage.

Also gonna have a look around for a rear rollpan, maybe the junkyards will have something that will work. Gonna try and find some stiff rubber in a roll so I can make mudflap/flares with it.

OK, so the guys from Digital Dash Solutions / Advanced Auto Electronics just called me back for my VIN and shipping info and payment. Woo Hoo I was wondering if they forgot about me.

$225.00 - refurbished digital dash unit shipping included.

And hes going to preset mine to:
000000 KM
How freaking cool is that?!?!?!

Ok cooler lines are back on, man were those a bitch, I had to rebend them into a diff route so that the fan did come close to them! Fuel filler extrntion is on, I just have to have the mechanics at my work weld the extention into my shift linkage and I can roll her out of the shop for some pics. She don't start for me so it looks like I will be putting the nut kit and intake gaskets on with it backwards in my garage. I also removed the stripping down the sides of the panels, cause I got the paint to do the lower half. 12 cans of rocker panel coating so far. I painted the rear wheel wells, and grinded them out to fit the new tires. My brother is hooking me up with 2 new fenders this week, so I will be installing and cutting them next weekend.

Here is some before and after photos of trimming the rear wheelwells. I think what I did is called MAJOR trimming, not minor. I took off about 2 inches at the thickest part. I doubt I needed to trim any, but this will make the mudflaps Im making fit the way I want them too.
*photos to come*

I thought that burning the gunk off the skidplates was a good way to clean them... Didnt think much of it actually.

However, I did forget about them while I was working, and now I have to go get some new skidplates from the junkyard cause they are aluminium... Oooops.

Also the Z71 shocks fit with no clearance issues. They are much fatter and harder to compress, but the brake lines still have at least 1/2 and inch clearance. These will work just fine!

Old vs. new

I cannot wait to driver her again... Urban wheeling here i come.

They are whatever brand shocks you want to buy... I dont remember the brnad, but they were the more expensive ones... And you ask for rear shocks for your Z71 Chevy halfton. They are actually 2.5 inches longer at full extention, so I dont need to modify the mount location, just put on a longer shock. I jsut went to NAPA and looked at the rear shocks for a 93 blazer, and compared to a couple other vehicles for ones that had the same mount holes and were longer. Tada. Now we all know lifted blazers take Z71 rear shocks.

So I cant get it to start to turn it around and work on the spider. I gotta wait till the weekend for more than an hour of sunlight afterwork to do the intake and nut kit.

I figured out the paint scheme she will get when the snows gone next spring too. Bodyline down - boxliner black gloss. Bodyline up - wetsand my green and cover it with green metallic top coat. The bodyline down the sides and tailgate will get a 1" red stripe to tie in my SS bowtie.

This week Im going to try and get some new front fenders and a better fitting grill. Next weekend I want to try and hit the auto wreckers and look for some stuff. Rear rollpan - front seats? - anything cool that might work for me - stereo wires - stuff like that.

Does anyone know what vehicle I would look for a spare wheel from? I need a 17 incher steelie with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Maybe a newer trailblazer?

Anyone have any leads on skull diff covers for these trucks?

How about a sweet spare tire cover for 32" tires?
