Oh, here is a pic of the new bracket assbly. on the bike.

So now the only thing left is to replace the handlebars and maybe get some new pedals and levers (in red of course. )

 

IDK if you replaced it yet, but from those crash pictures that rear tire looks BALD, i'd get on that ASAP

 

Yeah it didn't have much to begin with but I will need a new one sooner rather than later.

 

Ok I ordered a new set of handlebars.

I got red ones.

I'm also thinking about getting these levers.

 

Well I got bored one day and decided that I was going to repaint the passenger grab rails since they were scratched and not looking their best. So I sanded them all down and then I thought before I painted them that I kinda like the look of the bare aluminum and it matches the engine color so I reinstalled them to see how they look.




What do you guys think? Assuming that they don't rust. I'll try to get some shots of the entire bike with them tomorrow.

 

I like them, but I would definitely make sure to clear them or something to keep them from rusting.

 

Will aluminum rust? Because they are waaay to light to be steel. (and they aren't magnetic) If it will rust then I'll clear them to postpone that for as long as possible.

 

Aluminum won't "rust" but it will corrode. Think of what happens to your aluminum wheels on the truck when the clear coat wears/chips off. Definitely clear them. There's actually kits out there for keeping aluminum and steel, etc clear instead of rusting or corroding.

 

Good to know. My dad said that I should just paint them silver so that you can't see the sanding marks on it.
