So I decided that if I want to have the bike painted by professionals I'll need to save some $$. And I'm not very good at that. So I bought some stuffs today.

And I thought I'd try one of these out too.

I'll see if I have time tomorrow to pull parts and paint again.

Sort of off topic but my dad just bought a 2006 R6 with only 250 miles on the clock this week.

Can you say sexy?

So I got some painting done today. About 4 coats of black and 2 generous coats of clear.

Just need to wait for them to cure, then I'll pop them on the bike and get some actually decent pics.

I also should have a 17 tooth front sprocket coming in tomorrow to drop the rpms a little at highway speeds.

I had an 06 r6 myself a few years ago and I loved it! Best thing you can do for those things is trash the huge waste of 12 pounds of exhaust underneath it and give it a good pipe that will actually allow it to breath. Pair that with a power commander and a good air filter and you will have a fun bike. Not that they aren't fun in stock form but I just never could figure out what Yamaha was thinking with that exhaust!! I also added a set of Sato adjustable rear sets to mine but I put a set of those on almost every bike I ever owned. I always found myself scraping the ends of factory pegs

I had a chance to ride it today, and I gotta say, I had a blast on it. Maybe it's because I'm used to <80 horsepower and a rev limit of 12000. I think my dad was entertaining the idea of putting a turbo on it. We'll see if that ever comes to fruition though.

Back to my project.

It's got some flaws, but for $25 it can't be beat.
