It's hard to admit but I am strongly considering a backup camera just so I don't accidentally run over someone's hood in a parking lot lol!

Good job. Glad you got the bumper to match the bed liner on the truck.

Haha I'm glad you noticed! I just think my truck looks so much better with some dirt on it!

Rex, top notch work in your blazer. I've been an offroad guy for many years and then made a transition into the long time wanted Mini Cooper! Back in 2010 when I parted ways with my 04 lifted silverado and picked up my mini I also scored a 1999 chevy blazer with a low 80k miles from an old friend of the wife's. This has rolled up about 9000 miles since then and I've been back and forth with the idea of moving it up off the ground. I just received 2.5" spacers for the rear, after reading the early stages of your build, I ordered 2" shackles and will crank the torsion bars an inch or so for starters. Thanks for the great write up on your build! I will be using it for future reference.

It did come out good. Looks real good with the bumper. I do see how a cheap reverse camera would be a good investment and far cheaper than repainting someone hood after leaving tire tracks on it.

Is there any issue with the factory mounting and the double weight of the big wheel and tire plus the additional steel you used? Not sure how much the beef up the internal structure behind the sheetmetal for the swing-a-ways. The additional force of having the tire pushed back further would add to the leverage and additional stress is likely to be on those mounts.

I mounted the carrier myself off a 2 door and when I did it i bent 1/4" plate to fit the interior body panel so it's more than strong enough now. I can actually hang off of it without flexing body panels and I'm 225lbs.

Very nice. I had thought of adapting one on my TB rather than bumper mounting, but it seemed that I would not have enough body support.

Yeah I was t sure at first but another member Diata made his work with a 35 in it so I figured I could beef it up plenty to work with a 37. I try to think about future uses when I do non reversible mods like this

So hard core, when do we get some off roading video? I feel teased.
