Haha around here we have lanes that are "high occupancy vehicle" (HOV) only. Some you have to have 2 people some 3 in the vehicle in order to drive in them. They don't mess around either state patrol is out everyday looking for violators and third offense is a $1k plus fine and loss of license!!!

I've been following your build for over a year now (Even before i was a member here) and have to say it is a pretty awesome build! I actually got rid of my S10 i had and just last week got a 95 Blazer (Same color of red as yours lol)
Maybe i should start a build thread too.......haha

Well I got the pump back in but still no start and still losing pressure to fast during a leak down test so its not running yet. My father in law is going to use his AAA to get it towed back to my shop at work so I can have time to properly dig into it and by dig into it I mean this...
So here's the update I picked up an 01' 5.3 today for the blazer so its on to the next phase of the build
I got it from the auto tech teacher at one of the local high schools. He has owned it since new and ran Mobil One synthetic since the day he bought it with all oil changes happening between 2500-3000 miles since he had kids to do it and got the oil free! He showed me all of the records that were kept documenting any maintenance and work performed and even offered any help I may need with the swap. Its got about a 150k on it but looks really clean and nothing appears out of the ordinary from the outside and pulling the valve covers so hopefully all is well. He pulled it because he did a 6.0 swap in his burban which was there and the swap looked clean and proper. The plan is a complete tear down and check of everything with a small cam and whatever is associated with the heads to keep things happy with whatever cam I run and a tune other than that not much else since I want it to stay reliable. I got the motor complete top to bottom (minus the ac and alternator), starter, flywheel, engine cover, ECM, and a ton of bags of nuts and bolts all nicely labeled for $450!

Its got the intake from the 6.0 on it since the 5.3 was DBC and the 6.0 is DBW so I will be looking into trading/selling it in favor of a DBC setup. It also has the 6.0 fly wheel with only 800 miles on it from the wrecked truck the 6.0 came from if anyone is in need of one.
It will be a slow rebuild as time allows but I hope to have it in the truck within 3-6 months lol! I will have to rebuild my trans before it gets bolted up or I won't make it 10 feet! For now I am going to get the blazer running tho so I can drive it in the mean time.
