Looks like a ground issue.

Okay Rex, here is my din kit and the head unit. It sticks out a good bit, but clears the column shifter so everything is gravy.

And I would have to agree with Gio on the volt drop issue. Definitely check that.

Hmmmm yeah that does stick out a bit but it doesn't look bad. I guess I'll have to pull and clean all of my grounds and see if that helps any. It does it when I key up my cb occasionally as well but not always. I guess I have some work to do

On another note having the lights on the front is awesome! You can hardly notice when I turn on the headlights.

Well today was a busy and productive day on the Blazer! I made up a raised floor in the back. I just used a bunch of scrap wood I had laying around the shop and this is what I came up with. Its pretty self explanatory so not much to explain but if anyone has questions feel free to ask. I plan to pull it out and paint it (probably black) and I am also thinking about adding a drawer to the middle section but I'm not sure about that yet! Well here's the pictures
The start of the frame

Added some cross support

I used cardboard to make templates of each side and then transfered them to the plywood

Test fit

I cut the solid piece into two for ease of installation and removal

And the final product so far

It gives me a ton of extra storage space to keep my recovery gear and other random things that don't leave the truck under there. Then I can pile everything else on top. Its plenty strong to hold anything that I could ever fit back there as well. Let me know what you think!

i like it, i built a similar item for my guns. you should anchor it down with your hooks and jbolts and nuts thru the factory anchors.

Thanks guys!

I was thinking about anchoring it down but I don't see a huge need for it yet. The frame is 1" cherry and the top is 3/4" ply so its got a good bit of weight to it! The seats press back onto it holding it in place pretty snug so I'm not worried about it coming forward at all either. I'll keep an eye on it and may add anchors later tho thanks for the tip!

may not come up all the way but enough for your thing to go under it when it bounces up a inch or so offroad jamming yoru tools under the sides.

Depending on what kind of offroading you do, I'd absolutely anchor it down. Doesn't take a whole lot for a heavy box to become a heavy projectile... cheap insurance.
