My small 96 Blazer build
Hey Rex, been awhile but always been following this build! Anyways, What'd you do about your nice hole on the interior?
Otherwise, I'm VERY jealous my friend! Post some photos of the tire on the back instead of the roof when it gets there! Totally different look and feel! In other news.. This weekend I'll be purchasing new Tie Rod assemblies or my 99' and hopefully a week or two later I'll be buying the RC 2.5" lift! And then on to saving for larger tires. I've got quite the list and quite the limited income..

The interior holes will be covered by the carpet and interior trim pieces so nothing to worry about there. I should have time to get the tire on there tomorrow and ill get pics up then. I didn't have time today I had to drive to Rehoboth Beach for work today lol!

Sounds like you got a good bit goin on your truck make sure you post up some pics!

damn rex thats a cleaner install then mine haha good job on the spare tire mount i see u finnaly caved for one. after having one on mine its a pain in the *** to have always gotta swing out the spare tire carrier and some ppl in my neighbourhood likes to **** with my truck and unlatch the carrier so when i drive off it swings out on me and it caused damage to the quarter on mine. also they arnt meant for alot of weight so accessories are harder to have on it
Thanks guys!
I hear ya gitch on the pain of swinging it open all the time that's part of the reason it took me so long to put it on. I had to convince myself I'd be ok with it. As for people messing with it well no one in my neighborhood will touch anything of mine
. First line of defense is that I walk a 110lb Rottweiler around my neighborhood with my .45 on my hip. Those that know me don't mind and those that don't cross the st when they see me coming
. Second line of defense is the military grade IR HD cameras front and rear of my house (its nice having a wife that designs and builds secured facilities for all branches of the government and military) that are motion activated up to 75yds away and they record 24/7. They have litterally been triggered by leaves blowing across the ground at 2am so if they still dare to mess with my truck well then they will get a little more personal with me and my .45.
As for mounting things on the carrier I think I will be ok. By using the 3/16 and welding the nuts to it like I did it is so solid that I can grab the end of the carrier and hang on it with zero flex in the body panels
. I'm 220lbs so that's a good bit of weight!
Edit: 1999 not to rub it in I paid $5 for mine at my local PNP
. I'm running 31s right now but will be bumping up to 32s or 33s when I get new tires.
