Off Road Noise
hey, i know the feeling quite well, you are one up on me though. you have all your equipment. i have amps, wires, speakers and alternator. no big battery or subs yet. gotta order the subs this week and pick up my battery from work when i go in. gotta love working at a battery store where the owner has his own battery line for audio purposes. let me know if you need any extra power, i can locate something good for you for dirt cheap comparatively.
So people don't think i'm trying to sell something, i'm just putting it out there i work at a battery store where my boss matches and beats all prices. I make no commission off sales, i just work in the stock room and do deliveries.

I still need to get the battery and alternator here in the next week or so. Plus big 3 upgrade. Still have to order my new headunit too. Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT to replace the Kenwood Excelon KVT-614 flip out with nav that I am selling.
Love my Pioneers. on my 3rd one. never had a thing for the double din video though. i don't really see the point of Video and gps when i have awesome gps on my phone and such. Don't get me wrong, love the look of them and functionality but, i'm not going to spend the money for it ya know?
what alternator are you going with? battery?

I got lucky with the flip up. I traded an old amp of mine to my girlfriend's ex boyfriend cause he was too impatient to save the money. Got the headunit and nav package for an amp I only spent 200 bucks on. Worked out well. But I prefer pioneers. Always had them before, the super tuner IIID get better reception IMO than most other receivers.
I was looking into alternator man (he is located in comstock park here in Michigan I believe) and a XS Power D3400 battery or something similar. Maybe a Deka or Odyssey. Don't know yet for sure

I finally got around to get some more pictures of what has actually been done with the truck, which hasnt been much, the last couple days have been a bit busy.

I did get around to making some sturdier speaker plates to mount the 6.5 components in place of the 6x9s in the back. Not perfect but they will do. 1/2" MDF. thin layer of ensolite on both sides to slow down vibrations and the gray will blend well behind the plastics.

Man, between the job and the weather get any work done has been nearly impossible. I wish I had a garage to work in, this project would easily be done already. I may just bring the panels into the house on a blanket to finish them up so all this can go back together
Well I got one more of the rear lower panels finished and worked on the Drivers seat bottom that has a tear in it. Thinking about having my mom or grandmother sew on a nice navy blue patching on both the drivers and passenger seat to cover/repair the tear and give a little bit of accenting. Tomorrow I should finish the upper rear panels and wiring the speakers in so that the back half can go together (lets see if that actually happens) Nerf Bars are definately going to be in the future.
Was a busy weekend. Friend in the Army dropped into town on his last leave before deployment so I had to party it up with him. But was able to accomplish wiring in the rear door speakers.

And managed to find a nice set of brushed aluminum nerf bars on Craigslist. 120 bucks, brand new in box with all mounting hardware. Didn't know it until I picked them up and was looking at the instructions. GM Accessories Nerf Bars no less. Made here in Grand Blanc by GM.
