as far as i know........no you shouldn't.
but the Kenwood deck i have in it does control any MP3 that's plugged into it, right through the remote.

verify with Crutchfield on what they have listed, just to be sure what it is that they have listed. i've noticed they're not 100% all the time.

Crutchfield claims it is compatible and major modifications are required. However, with every compatible deck it states that major modifications are required. I know I need a plate so that it fits in the double din spot. Maybe that's what they mean?

Crutchfield claims that with the purchase it comes with the installation kit, wiring harness and antenna adapter. I think I might just call them and see what "major modifications" are required, and if I need any fancy computer harness thing. They are pretty well know for their customer service, so I'll check it out.

Seems like a nice deck. The customer reviews don't say anything about buying other products. I think its like the other iPod decks and and you just plug in your iPod with the USB wire.

Its one of the best decisions I made. Keeps your eyes closer to the road and no more fumbling with your iPod. It's great. I don't know about that deck but mine I can switch between HU control over the iPod or iPod control the the passengers can pick songs without reaching for the deck. Good feature!

That sounds pretty awesome. What kind of deck do ya got??

I really like the Ipod control, but ditching steering wheel control will hurt me. I'll check out the old eBay for the steering wheel adapter for cheap.

Good thing is, if I get a single din deck, I'll have the storage pocket underneath the deck. As much as people wish they had a double din opening, I find it a curse! I feel the need to have a 7" double din touchscreen deck, but can't afford that!!

I've got a Pioneer DEH-5100UB. AMAZING deck. 3 sets of pre-outs, Full sub control, 2 USB ports and 2 aux. Its awesome! $230 with a big deal from FS cuz they screwed up my previous deck and amp. That was the last time I was in Future Shop lol.

IIRC there are cheap controls on eBay, But make sure you get the right one. I know Pioneer makes a couple different versions so be careful.

Touchscreen is my next step lol. I don't think I will ever have another stock stereo by choice. I wanna somehow put my laptop in the dash. Touchpad in the center console all audio video stuff incorporated with a backup camera. Oh I dream big lol

You do dream big. You'll have to sell the truck to buy the sound system.

I've just got the stereo bug because a Futureshop just opened up in town. I was blown away by how cheap everything is. All we had before was a few privately owned businesses that charge an 80% markup on everything!

Close, but powdercoated! It's not all I did either...

My phone kinda makes the pictures look ugly as sin. I'm getting some done soon by a friend with a really good camera soon.

So, I got the tire carrier, all 5 rims and the front bushguard bar powdercoated. I bought some chrome lug covers and switched the white walls out.

They look a lot better in person. The tires aren't all brown like that.

Oh, and I also just got my black weathertech floor mats in today!
