You honk your horn at my house and your getting 8 scratch marks down the side of your vehicle. lol She's not vicious, just curious!

 

I don't think my paint job on the grille will stick around. The clear coat I used, despite being labeled "Gloss", made it very flat. Aside from that I'm not very good at painting so it's not very great all around. I also bumped it with my finger before it was fully dry, so it left a dent in the paint.

I'm not happy with it so I will price out getting it professionally done tomorrow.

The bowtie will hopefully be getting a "brushed chrome" decal from a guy over on ZR2usa.com if he gets back to me.

 

On that chrome bar I had the same issue you're talking about the first time I painted it, and when it was dry the next day I knew one fl summer and it'd be gone. So I had to sand, primer, sand, primer, paint, paint, paint, clear, clear. Pretty sure that was the number of color and clear coats. It was either 2 color 1 clear or 3 color 2 clear.

Looks good though, definitely liking the look!

 

I think I'll have to re-do the paint also. I'll get a hold of a better clear coat and get to work once again.

 

I think I'm addicted to eBay. I can't stop!

Edit: Does anyone know if command start came factory in these in 03'? I'm pretty sure it is aftermarket, but it would be good if it isn't.

the lights look pretty good on your truck. are you gonna get rid of that one non-black bar out front, or what?

 

Yup that bar is getting powdercoated. It's got a bit of surface rust on it too, so that will be fixed in the process.

 

I bought new tail lights...again.
