Thanks man, she is a work in progress!
I would NOT recommend mounting the compressor in the truck, although you can route the intake inside the truck like I did to be sure it only sucks clean air.
It is a little noisy but nothing like you would think it is. Noise vs no air, I would take the air any day! There is also a switch so you can turn off the system. Plus, once the system is full it stays that way for a long time ( I have a small leak to chase down).
I would also recommend dual batteries if you plan on counting on the air, or go the AC compressor route. The compressor can pull a few amps. mine is 100% duty cycle.
All in all, the setup is definitely quieter then even those portable compressors for like painting and drywall texture. I am quite happy, now just working on a tennis ball launcher for taking the dog to the park!
Ill see what I can do!

The air system was actually fairly inexpensive, I mean as cheap as toys can be. I wanna say it was like 4 bills at 4wheelparts, but they accidentally tossed my stock gears in a mix up so I got a discount on the air system.

I'm going to bump this because i really like this truck, and really like the on board air *in my near future* hope its still around.
I do have a question with the 8.8 though, besides gears and redrilling to lug pattern was it a direct bolt in for the rear axle?

Looking good! I would like to install an overhead console into my blazer. when you installed yours, was it a simple plug in install(harness in the headliner), or did you have to wire it in? i see the harness in the grill for the temp sensor, i am hoping the rest is in there too.
