Well i got the exhaust done. I went to a few different shops and most quoted me between $1000 - $1500 for a custom header back exhaust and said that a 3in tailpipe wound not fit.
The last shop i went to said $500 plus tax including the muffler and they would fit a 3in pipe.
So here she is 2.5in pipes off the collectors and 3 in pipes from the y-pipe back.
I also had them add a clamp in the middle so i can remove just the Y-pipe if i need to drop the transmission.
I snapped these while they were finishing it up so the final welds are not done yet.
Also dont judge my dirty junk yard transmission next to the shiny stuff. It was only $500 and so far is working great.

Well a not so fun update.
I have a valve train noise in the engine and its not the rockers, valves or push rods. I am kicking myself for not tearing this motor down to inspect it while i had it on the stand. Oh well live and learn.
Looks like the heads are coming off to check the cam and lifters.
These engines are known to get pits the roller of the lifter and wipe the cam in time.
On a positive note it gives me a reason to put a bigger aftermarket cam in it.
Ill throw some pictures on when i get it torn down and find out whats wrong.
