I'm a fan of your blazer it looks really good, make sure your amp has a ton of room for air flow.

Thanks man i appreciate it,

To the other fellows ill try and check with a dealer this weekend and let every one know about the WBSE (new abreviation)!

But in the mean time ill give some tips for the lower ball joint replacement.

Good source is youtubing the 1aauto video on it. really great for instructions but total bull **** on how easy he makes it look!

My tips for it crank down your tbar and the upper and lower control arm together using a big *** clamp. I also took out my joist bumper but than i couldn't get it back in after.. so i am living on the wild side!! Thats my tips for that , the video i found to be a big help.

Secondly I am doing a terrible hack job on my body trying to make room for the tires.

So far i've upgraded from a 7 point turn to park to a 3 point turn. But the real genious idea I had was to just take off the tires to cut everything out!! so that will happen this weekend.

So after another 2 months of not posting Im back with O so exciting news.

Got the P0300 code!!!
ya so the next few weeks I will be learning what I can do to fix it but in that time anyone that wants to help please go ahead.

this is the freeze frame (So is that when the initial code was taken??)

Stored:
P0300 Random Misfire Detected

Pending:
P0300 Random Misfire Detected

MIL ON
MisFire Monitor Complete
Fuel System Monitor Complete
Comprehensive Component Monitor Complete
Catalyst Monitor Complete
Heated Catalyst Monitor Not Supported
Evaporative System Monitor Complete
Secondary Air System Monitor Not Supported
A/C System Refrigerant Monitor Not Supported
Oxygen Sensor Monitor Complete
Oxygen Sensor Heater Monitor Complete
EGR System Monitor Complete

DTC For Which Freeze Frame Was Stored P0300
Fuel System 1 Status Closed Loop
Fuel System 2 Status Closed Loop
Calculated LOAD Value 3.92 %
Engine Coolant Temperature 186.8 °F
Short Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 -28.91 %
Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 -17.97 %
Short Term Fuel Trim - Bank 2 -28.13 %
Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 2 -17.97 %
Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure 11.5 inHg
Engine RPM 664.25 rpm
Vehicle Speed Sensor 7.5 mph
Air Flow Rate from Mass Air Flow Sensor 0.903 lb/min
Absolute Throttle Position 0.00 %

So this is what it is.. Ill try my best to learn how to interpret the info but im starting from scratch.

So the build is on hold till then, except for my continued hack job on the Jimmy body so that the tires dont rub lol

Hope you all enjoy helping out

Check play in the distributor shaft, also check cap, rotor, wires, and plugs..... That's where you can start at least......

Just found some info on the BF thread about p0300 too so this will be a fun read.

IDK if its just me but those fuel trim levels are interesting to see

yeah i was thinking they're WAY out there but then again it was trying to compensate for the misfire so......... also it was probably spitting raw fuel into the manifold if it was misfiring bad enough.

Yeah the more I read about them the more I say uh oh.

Maybe a really silly question, a CAI would cause a correction to be needed in the fuel amount could my % be wrong because of that or is that out to lunch...

I just started reading a good article so I may answer this question right away.

No i don't think that would cause that big of a difference. Remember that having a CAI isn't going to increase the amount of air the engine CAN ingest, just how much flow is available. The problem is that putting a CAI on doesn't change the fact that the intake elbow, throttle plate, size of the TB, size of the hose and size of the MAF all create restrictions in the flow, as well as the flow of the heads, valves, etc. There's 1000 variables and the only way that the CAI actually makes a true difference in flow is if the filter itself was the biggest restriction in the entire system. However knowing that GM had to design the airbox with the flow characteristics of the engine I'm pretty sure it isn't restricting it that much to make THAT big of a difference.

The biggest effect (positive at least) that a CAI is designed for is to allow cooler air into the engine. Cooler air is denser and thereby allows more fuel for a more potent mixture.

In short, no I don't a simple CAI is going to cause a huge spike in fuel trims.

well you make to much sense to argue unfortunately.

I cleared the code and am waiting for it to show up again so i can see another freeze frame and see if anything changed.

But as for checking out the problem it was too cold this weekend so i'm holding off for a bit.
