1.6 rocker arms
#21
I just finished this swap on my 2000 2dr. It probably has 30 mins of run time on it due to other work being accomplished.
I used the Scorpion 1.6 rockers, comp cam bee hive springs and the correct retainers. It did not require any head work. However I had my heads milled and valve seats and valves worked due to the PO driving a long time with bad intake gaskets, and a head gasket in the early stages of going.
The early stamped metal valve covers fit with out any machining/ grinding required, unless you want to remove the valve covers without taking the accessory brackets off.
I have read that you don't need to machine the guides until you add in an aftermarket cam and go above a certain lift. I stayed with the stock cam for the moment.
I forgot to mention, I used the stock pushrods.
