Default belt noise

Hello I have a belt noise that occurs only when the engine is cold or with a/c off. The vehicle is a '97 Blazer 4.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

So does it do it when the engine is cold and the a/c is off...? Or will it squeal when the engine is cold and the a/c is on as well?

It is only when it is cold and the a/c is off. It goes away if u turn the a/c on.

K. I couldn't tell from your original description of the problem. Sounds like you have a problem with the clearance on the A/C compressor clutch. This could be caused by rust in the clutch plates. I believe that there is a bolt that holds the compressor drive on the end of the compressor, then the pulley itself is held on with a snap ring (IIRC).
