Periods would help.

Truck specifics would help too. YEar, engine, tranny, 2wdr 4x4, etc.

IF I understand your post.
There is a lock ring on top of the fuel pump. Take a hammer and screw driver and turn the lock ring. Remember gas fumes and sparks are not a good combination, use rags to reduce teh chance of a spark. Try some penetrating lube too.

There is a relay that controls the pump. If the pump isn't starting with the turn of the key, the relay may be bad. Should be a couple of relays next to each other, try one of the other ones and see if that fixes the problem.

There is also a oil pressure switch tied into the relay, no oil, and the relay wont let the fuel pump fire.

Did yuo disconnect the battery? Got power? Headlights work?

My '00 has 127,000 miles on her now. I figure I'll be swapping in a new engine in 2 years. I really lke the 4.3L, however I need some serious conviencing to drop in a 5.7L. I know the tranny will handle it. I already rebuilt it.
End hi-jack.
