Whats everyones running temp or the coolant/engine in the 4.3?

my truck reads this too. what do the little lines symbolize? i cant tell or figure out what the gauge is reading at? can you tell me? it never ever goes higher than this unless you drain the radiator while the truck is running....

Ever since I rebuilt my radiator and flushed everything out, my truck runs at the 2nd large hash mark (the quarter tank mark if compared to the gas gauge). If I idle or sit in traffic for a while it will go up a couple dashes.

thats what mine sits at too kane.
#34
yeah but is that 150* or 160* degrees? i dont know what the temp is in degrees, thats what i want to know. and do the little lines represent increments of 5? or 10? like how do you read the darn thing? if you notice nobody has been able to read it. most of the time my gauge is one small line below the one thats pictures above..... i think maybe my thermostat has limited movement or its stuck open some what...can anyone help with this?
#35
Well, from the 100* to the 210* I count 8 dashes including the 210. So that means the 110* difference divided by 8 dashes would equal 13.75* increments.... which is a rather odd number.
#36
so i guess its impossible to read that guage pictured above... so no one knows what that temperature is.... man this stinks
#37
180-185 degrees.
#38
I would say that would be pretty close.
#39
there is 1 slightly larger line between the 100* large mark and the 210* large mark, so what would that slightly larger line between the two larger lines indicate?

My 99 Jimmy was running just below a 1/4 way until I changed the thermostat. Now runs right where this picture is showing and gets there quite fast even in cold weather. I also removed the Dexcool and went back to the green stuff.
