my truck also doesn't seem to really 'blow heat' untill around 140ish which takes a while to get to, sucks on the way to work at 5am.

Im running about a 1.4 inch under the 210 mark on my 91. Im running the 180 thermostat. I may go back to the 205 or w.e. My gas mileage dropped a little after i changed it over.

I eyeballed the temp-gauge yesterday afternoon (106°F here in Vegas) and it sat steady at two marks below 210, which I reckon is about 182, and that was with the A/C running. I bought a new thermostat today to install this weekend, hoping to improve my 16mpg average.

Mine runs about 200. Today it was 108 outside temp, it ran about 200 going up I-17 to about 3000' while running the AC.

so whats the latest on this i have the same problem on my 93 w code, it didnt pass smog by high hc on high rpm, heater core bypassed, ran cold i replaced the t stat and now runs a little under the middle mark. i thought i failed due to not beeing in clossed loop but since my temp still looks slightly low i havnt smoged it again.

.
I think mine runs in the range of 190 to 200. I don't want to take any chances of it overheating with a thermostat with a higher temp setting.
