01 zr2 blazer 5 speed swap
I'm currently in the process of 5 speed swapping my blazer. Most everything is done just waiting on clutch kit to arrive. Was watching some videos on YouTube and couldn't get a clear idea of pilot bearing install. Some say to install flush with crank I've read 22mm into crank and also to seat it all the way into the crank. I have a 01 s10 that I got my parts from when I dropped the 5 speed out of that the pilot was as far into crank as possible, but Im not sure whoever installed that did it correct. Just looking on clearification on that. Also would it benefit me to use the S10 ecu in the Blazer because it knows about the 5 speed or would that not work in the Blazer, both are 2001. Thanks for any answers
I don't really know anything about the pilot bearing, but regarding your ECU, your best bet is probably to get your Blazer ECU flashed to match the transmission type if you want to run without constant check engine lights. I suspect that neither ECU will work properly straight off without being flashed to have the correct VIN and equipment to match the vehicle. Your Blazer ECU would probably run, but with check engine lights for transmission issues.
