Thanks guys!

I was able to get the upper intake off with a little persuasion.

Got the motor out this morning. Both motor mounts are shot. Is there a preferred brand for these? I recall someone posting that a new one they had installed had failed.

What's the easiest way to get everything to line up upon reassy? Should I use the thru bolts on the motor mounts, or should I remove the stands from the frame and aline that way?

Also, is it possible to install the engine with the exhaust manfolds installed, or would it be much easier without? I removed the engine with the manifolds off.

I have yet to find a source for a 180* stat. Anywhere I've checked, they say its not available.
Where do you guys get yours?

Thanks again!!!

Honestly, I don't know what you expect out of a 180* stat, but on the newer vehicles (98+), it can cause more problems than good...

First and foremost, depending on the ambient temperatures you regularly see throughout the year, you may experience a Check Engine Light which will state something to the affect of operating temperature not reached in specified time period. The PCM looks for atleast 175*F after somewhere around 5 minutes of engine operation. If it doesn't see it, it can trigger the code. If the engine doesn't warm up past the specified temp, you could remain in open loop operation, wasting fuel.

Its your call, but there is a reason why you just can't look up a 180 stat for your truck...

plus the puter will not lock up the tranny until the enigne is up to operating temp. Quick way to fry your tranny in the summer.

You can run a 180 stat, howveer you need to change the puter program to reflect the change. That negates the reason for the change. Most change to a cooler stat to dump more fuel and bumb performance, old skool trick. unfortunately it dont work on modern engines. If you want more hp, get a tune.
