Default 1 out of 6? Tranny woes

Hey y'all. Newbe here. '86 Blazer 4X4 with a 2.8, 5 speed manual. Rolling along in 5th gear when the engine begin to raz like in neutral. Put it in 4th and it took off but in 5th there is nothing. Came to a stop and put it in 1st. Nothing. 2nd. Nothing. 3rd. Nothing. 5th. Nothing. Reverse. Nothing. The only gear that works is 4th! So I slipped the clutch and got it back home. I can feel the shifter working and I can put it in neutral, start the engine and shift into gears without the clutch in and nothing happens, except 4th of course. Any ideas?

I don't know much about manual transmissions but unless something really bad happened I don't think you lost all the gears inside the transmission at the same time. I would guess it's a linkage problem preventing gears from engaging.

sounds like you threw out the throw out bearing or damaged the clutch fork. or just plain out blew clutch if clutch plate is overheated and warped.
you didnt blow gears alnost impossible with standard believe me you would have heard grinding. most likely throw out bearing or clutch fork or clutch plate
