Default 1995 Blazer rough shifting from 1st

Same 95 Blazer that had the fuel pump (but not the filter) replaced. It's been getting cold up here lately, and when it starts cold it seems to have a rough time shifting from first to second gear. There is a check engine light I haven't been able to read yet, and I think the ignition coil is going, but thought I would ask about this issue while I'm at it. It runs fine (starts a bit rough in the cold, but it does first time every time), doesn't hesitate accelerating, and seems to shift fine once it's warmed up. Thanks in advance for any help!

Well you need to get this issue fixed soon before it becomes something more serious. Is it slipping as its trying shift or shuttering?Your problem could have something to do with the check engine light depending on the code. When was the last time the filter and fluid was changed? If you dont know then do it.

like 1sttimejimmyowner said, could just need a fluid/filter change, Check the fluid level, and see how it smells.

It's still red, but smells a bit funky. I'm going to change the engine oil and filter soon, so I might as well do both.

i would say put some lucas stop slip its pretty good stuff and prolongs the life of ur tranny and will actually improve the shift quality

I'm broke, but I'm going to see about a flush and new filter from the guy who did my pump. Some online estimator I found said $80, which sounds pretty reasonable.
