since you posted a stupid question, here is a stupid answer.

Put a piece of tape over it.

Get the SRS system scanned by a capable scan tool and go from there. Let us know what the code is.

I have a 98 Blazer with the air bag light on also. It wasn't on until I had the steering column apart to change the ignition keyswitch. I also changed the instrument cluster because the digital readout (gearshift indicator and odometer didn't work on the old cluster). I did have the battery unhooked so I didn't blast the airbag off in my face while working. To check that I did the keyswitch correctly, I hooked up the battery and started the truck with the airbag still unhooked from the column.

My OBDII scanner shows no codes are present, but the light is still on. Any suggestions on how to get the light to go off? I'm thinking that since I started the truck one time with the airbag unhooked, that the computer noticed that there was a problem in the air bag system.
