my wifes 2002 blazer just started what sounds like a valve tap. 1) can the lifters be adj.? she uses 5w-30 oil could 10w -30 help with this?

Also while looking this over I noticed coolant coming from the front corner of the intake, she told me shes had to add coolant a few times . Could one be causing the other????? I don't see water/coolant in the oil ..
Any help???

 

I have seen a few collapsed lifters and even a few bad cams in these engines. The rocker arms are not adjustable, but it wouldn't hurt to pop off the valve cover and check the torque on the retaining bolts.

I would get that LIM gasket fixed up sooner rather than later. It won't get better.

Feeling your pain Gunny, just had the same thing happen here on the drivers side so started riping into it today. So far no fun.....
