I got the truck for a good price and the fella that sold it to me told me that it wouldn't move when it is put in drive. It needs some work to keep it running but I can get it to move in all other gears but when put in drive it sits as if it's in neutral. Is this something that would require a fully tranny rebuild\replacement or possibly something small that could be easily fixed. I'm not 100% positive but I believe it's a 700R4 tranny bolted to a 305. Any and all help is appreciated.

 

Check the fluid level and quality first. Then drop the pan and seee if there is excessive particles in the pan or chunks. Then i would put a new fliter in and see if that helps.
