Default 88 S10 4x4 4.3L 700r4 transmission problems

First let's start with hello to all..👋
now to the fun part that's got me baffled 🤔,ok so I have a 1988 S10 blazer 4x4 with the 4.3L with the 700r4 trans..my problem with the trans is every gear works fine but reverse!?!?!
got in it this morning and drove it about an hour or so on a few local dirt roads and during my trip I tried reverse several times along the way, nothing but the sound as if it was trying to engage Revere and would rock back an inch and when I mash the gas nothing happened...got home and rocked back and forth from park to drive on the shift column with vehicle running, after doing so several times as I was pressing the gas repetitively upwards from 3to 4 rpms reverse picked up and took off backwards 30 yards and then slowly stopped pulling.fluid is in good shape and it reads full..any help would be appreciative..thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I don't have any experience or technical info on your transmission, but here is the diagnosis dope on no reverse or slips in reverse for the 4L60-E found in our gen 2 Blazers:
