Default 98 Blazer Flashing Check Engine Light

My 98 Blazer was doing okay (I guess) up until this past Monday evening when I went to go to town and it started doing its best "Cheech and Chong" impersonation. It was spewing white smoke out the exhaust, it wouldn't idle, and when I revved it the smoke got worse. This weekend, my dad installed a new set of fuel injectors. My mom has been driving it all week except for today, and she said it was fine. When I got in it to drive to town today, I noticed it still wasn't idling nearly as good as before the smoke show, and the check engine light started flashing above 25 mph. I'm concerned that something is seriously wrong with this engine, but I don't know what to do. I can't afford to detonate this motor. On a side note, this Blazer is only worth about 500 bucks, I got it non-running from a friend of my sister who let it sit for three years. It has a laundry list of problems; some of the few things it did good before last Monday include run, maintain good oil pressure (between 30 and 60 psi), maintain good temp (around 190), and play music.

A flashing SEL indicates a serious misfire condition that needs attention. Your first move is a scanner with live data capability. We can help with that. The very first thing though is read the codes and report back.

Also, has this truck had a compression test?
