Default 98 blazer ticking noise while driving. Please HELP!

for about a month now i have been getting this ticking noise from the right side of the engine compartment. It only makes a ticking when i accelerate. But it stops once i take my foot off the gas pedal. The faster i drive the faster the ticking is. the noise isnt loud but its loud enough where i can hear it. i was told it could be my exhaust manifold gasket. any other suggestions?
thanks

it very well could be a manifold gasket but i did have the same prob with a ford ranger the ticking was not there at idle but very evident at certain RPMs it eventually got worse come to find it was a rod bearing could have been saved if i woulda stopped drivin it try gasket first

Ill second the CV? My boot was blown and lost about 70% of the grease inside. it made more of a grinding noise at he end, but it was like you said, non exhistant at idle, and increased with speed. *shrug* Crank your wheel all the way in one direction and look at your CV boot and the surrounding area. if it looks like a grease bomb went off centered on your boot, then you have spotted a (if not THE) problem.

i am pretty sure its not the cv axle on the drivers side because i just replaced the whole axle because the boot exploded and grease was everywhere. any other suggestions? Please any help would be great.

the manifold gasket will cause a ticking if theres small blow out also a small crack in the manifold will make the same type of noise i saw that on a 97 4.3 never changed one on a 4.3 before though

does anyone know how to tell if your gasket on your exhaust manifold is bad? does anyone know how to change one?
