i got a 97 blazer lt 4x4 for 700 bucks cosmetically its in great shape but it has a knock i found a 96 blazer motor its a 4.3 also i was wondering if it would swap in? if so how hard and how much time would it take to do the swap i have a friend who is helping since ive never done this before but hes a grad from college for auto mechanics

 

Should work you might have to swap intake manifolds if there different. I would pull it anyways to replace the gasket since it probably leaks like most do. Should take 2 days of solid work to get it all swapped and running . That depends on your talent and your tools you have available too.

The engines should be practically identical. If the drivetrains are different (2wd/4wd), then you will want to swap the oil pans, but that's about it. Just look things over closely when they are both out in the open.
