Default Blown Motor after 1,700 of work

I got a 95 ls blazer, I brought it too the shop to get a tune up there were gonna flush my oil and gas and replaceand fix everthing else that was going belts, ect. they told me the motor looked good and just some small things were wrong with it. The repiars costed me a total of 1700. The day i got it out it was running strong for the time being, i stayed at a friends house for the night and on the way home it started making a ticking noise, and my oil guage was moving up and down, i knew there was a problem. I pulled up to a stop light getin ready to pull into parking lot and call the shop, but the engine seized at the light and the ignition would no longer turn this was all less then 24 hours after it was out of the shop. I loved this trunk and had a **** load of work done to it new started, alternator, brakes, front ball joints, tires exhaust, radiatior, hoses, and belts. All within 6 months of this indcident. Trying to figure out wat i should doo about the shop cause i feel they are responsible for killing it. And if i should part it out, or start looking for a new motor.

first off, I would have it towed to another garage and have them figure out why the engine blew. Then go from there.

Man i know how you feel i had my wifes car in a shop one time because the water pump went and after leaving the shop not an hour later the motor blew and i had it towed to the nearest shop (tow trucks are expensive) i told them i just left a shop that replaced my water pump well after they looked over the car they said the shop never did anything. After taking them to small claims i learned i could only get them for the motor not the labor some stupid waranty laws and the labor came to $2900 my wife was fit to kill some one.

Thanks,

I would bet they did not refill the engine with oil after they put it all back together. Check the paperwork carefully. See if there are any warranties that apply. Most reputable shops will have some sort of warranty on a job this big. Also, contact your local Better Business Bureau and report the shop. When you contact them, let them know you have already contacted the BBB and are ready to contact the State's Attorney General if they do not make good and correct the problem immediately.

You may have to go so far as to have a letter written on a law firm's letterhead threatening a lawsuit. Usually, that makes them much more cooperative.
