Bluetooth ELM327 OBD2 reader on Android

It shouldn't draw any power unless the vehicle is running & you have it synced. If the vehicle is running the power the ELM uses is minimal at best.
You shut the vehicle off & it shuts off, mine has been plugged in for months & CB has gone for days camping etc without a power issue.
If it's not transmitting it's not drawing power & it'll only transmit/recieve when the vehicle is running & synced.

i got me a bluetooth super mini elm327 v1.5 off ebay and i think it is a v1.0 "WATCH OUT FOR THESE!"
the newest version is actually v1.0 and the ones off ebay say v1.5 but that is not the chip version
its something else
mine says bus error: shorted to vbatt or ground when the vehicle is running
if just in the run position (engine off) it can pull DTC's but when engine is running i get that error all the time
i was thinking it might be a short but i really dont think so because autozone, advance auto and oreilleys checked my system before and never said anything about it
it does work with my 97 dodge caravan though
i think its really buggy as the chip version = v1.0 (thats why they call them a knock off because with the original elm the software/hardware was not encrypted and that is what they copied
every chip version after that they havent copied to my knowledge

Obd2 issue
Does somebody use the bluetooth OBD reader and have the Torque application installed on your android phone or tablet?
This look like a brillant combo. You can add lots of gages like Fuel pressure, vacuum, hp, torque.
It also give you all the check engine codes in memory of your ECU.
Hope this will help me solve my issues.

Its an 01 blazer 4.3 by the way.

Then advise what device, what OBD2 adapter, and what app you are using (and paid version vs demo version).
You should be able to test your device using the Torque Lite app.
Please start your own thread this one is ancient.
