There should be a sticker on your evaporator box that will tell you.

Default Amount of r134a Freon

The sticker is on either the evaporator or the reciever/drier and has the amount of r12 freon. The amount of r134a freon is 75% of r12 if you've retrofitted the system from r12 to r134a.

I know, but how is the amount?

How much for a new compressor?

For the following cars depending which car heres the amount

Beretta 2.25 lbs
Corsica 2.25 lbs
Lumina 2 lbs
Camaro 2 lbs
Cavalier 2 lbs
Celebrity 2.25 lbs

I hope this helps.

Plus don't forget to prime the compressor with oil first some don't have oil in them when you get them new. 4 oz of oil in the compressor and 4 oz in the reciever/drier. If you haven't already done so.
