Smile Swapping a V8 in 2cnd en

You would be for one heck of a job if you tryed it.I know they make a V8 swap kit if you are so attemped to do it.The 4.3 are hard as heck to work on as it is cause of how tight they fit in the engine compartment. Not to mention you are going to need to make changes in your suspension. To me with allthe mods that would need to be done It wouldnt be worth it.JUST IF YOU DECIDE TO DO THIS HAVE FUN

Its worth it! It just depends what swap you are doing. A 5.7 swap is probably the easiest as far as that goes. No need to touch the suspension as there isn't much weight difference either but you are dead on about trying to work on it there's just not enough room. I'll be doing a 5.7 swap myself but unlike the OP I have spent countless hours reading and looking at other peoples swap threads and scouring the info online and I still have countless hours to go before I even start investing money in it even though I'm pretty confident I could do it now.

i did it on a 95 years ago. i wanted to run a mechanical fan so had to modify the firewall a bit for it to sit back far enough. its really not to bad just time consuming and the dollars add up

If you ever seen the chevy monza they made back in 78-79 that squeezed the 305 V8 in thats about how tight a V8 would fit in 2cnd gen S10 blazer LOL

V8 a tight fit in a s-series but not as bad as a sbc in a luv or a big block in a vega. I've done all of the above. The worse was my uncles 302 pinto. My blazer will be my 12th v8 s-series (5th street legal one) and way worth it.
