Engine is jumping
My engine is jumping. This is only happening on the highway and it is scaring me. It is only happening when I go 60-70mph and I have my RPMs between 1000 and 2000. Why is this happening and is there any way to fix it?
What exactly do you mean by "jumping"?
And is your engine really turning less than 2k at 60+? At 60 mine is right at 2k. I've got 3.73s, though.
edit: By jumping, do you mean like the transmission is shifting into and out of od, or similar? Like it's hunting for the right gear?

that might be it... but it just did it when i was going 40 too... this thing is seriously trying to murder me though so i might just get rid of it. and it is jerking forward and backward and the rpms are going from below to above 2000
any check engine lights, or codes stored? I've had an intermittent problem with mine having a very high idle, ~2k rpm on occasion, and it's accompanied by a CEL and a IAC code, IIRC. Maybe your problem is the similar?
You might be able to rule out the transmission by selecting a gear, maybe 2nd or 3rd, instead of just D, and seeing if the situation still occurs.

No check engine lights. The engine was actually acting perfect until this and today when it was accelerating by itself and I could barely brake. Before it started trying to kill me with this crap, it ran perfectly smooth though.
I don't know if it's even possible, but maybe something is wrong in the cruise control system? On my '95, there are two throttle cables attached to the throttle linkage. One goes to the gas, and I always thought the other was for the cruise control. If you have that same setup, try disconnecting the cruise one.
Again, this might be totally impossible, and I'm really talking out of my rear end, but maybe it'll get ya started in the right direction.
