Default Engine removal

I,ve done the search function thing, but still unsure! Can I pull the engine & trans. Together on a '02 4.3 a.t. 4 wd. Without splitting the trans.I have an '01 zr2 with a badd kknock and bought a low milage wreck with a good drive train and want to do the swap as painless as possible.Any sound advice.?

I'm not sure about pulling them out as one...when I did mine, I dropped the tranny first. If you decide to go that route, make sure you have some long extensions ready to get the top and side bellhousing bolts. Clearance is real close, and it helps if you undo the aft mount and let the rear of the tranny drop down, then go over the top to get the bolts. All in all, it was a pretty straight forward swap. Just remember about the two engine grounds on the back side of the block...hard to see, easy to forget.

I am sure it can be done, if you have enough clearance underneath to tilt the assembly out...or pull the front radiator support.
