Default Engine Swap?

Hey guys, so I have a 93 k5 Blazer. Literally my pride and joy. But It's now pushing almost 300,000 miles on the stock 350. I'm really considering an engine swap, and I don't want another 350. Do you think it's possible to have a 6.5l turbo installed? I know it came stock on blazers that year but what kinda improvements would I be looking at? I'd like better gas mileage but also alittle bit more towing power. What do y'all think?

the 6.5 was not a powerful motor. not great mileage, ok torque. an older 12V Cummins would be a far better choice IMO.

Can I fit different Diesel engines in it? I'd love to have a cummins maybe even a duramax. I'm concerned about engine bay space and If the transmission would even hold up.

An easier conversion would be to drop a 454 in if you want more power than the small block.

Yeah I'd like a 454, even worse on gas though.. Plus I like the though of a diesel in it. I'm just not sure of how installation and all would work out.

Rather than trying to do a conversion on a diesel you might be better off looking around for a deal on a blazer that has one already in it.Cost wise its probaly a better alternitive rather than the all the work on converting a gas engine vehicle.By the time you spend $ on the engine, motor mounts, trans, wiring exaust etc plus all the time and labor involved.
Just say you were convinced to stay with a gas engine and went with a 454 big block, and IF you got one that was fuel injected along with a performance chip you would have a very powerful engine with half way decent gas milege considering. Not to mention the swap would be easier, cheaper and faster.

GO diesel man. You can either put a 6.5 or a 6.6 if you want... OR you can go all out and put a cummins in her

cummins is going to be a nice project in my opinion . its either a 350 or a diesel. Dont go with a 454 cause gas is going to kick your *** thats for sure.

If ya changing out wiring and fuel systems I'd go with a 6bt cummings or a duramax personally. If a guy in his shop at his house can put a duramax is his s10 I know you have the room in a k5. Also going from a sbc to a oil burner plan on swapping the front springs.

If I can get my hands on a 4bt I'm swapping out the 350 in my blazer.
