Default Engine Swap Question.

Well i didn't really know where so put this b/c it doesn't pertain to blazers but to full size chevy trucks so here is my question if any one might have an answer for me.

I bought a 68 chevy truck 1/2 ton long bed and it has no engine. It had a smallblock in it before, I have a inline 6 cyl i thought about putting in it for now just to get it on the road until i have the funds to build a v8 for it. Will i have to move the motor mounts to install the I/6 or are the mounts in the same location for both? Thanks for the help.

well i assume this I6 you are talking about is a jeep 4.0L? If so you will probably have to redo the mounts but i am not positive

yea the 250 I6 sorry about that. wondering if i have to move the mounts on the frame? I dont want to have to drill holes in the frame if i don't have to.

no you don't.

my '81 originally came with the I6 250, and when i dropped in my SB, the V8 mounts met right up to it. and as far as i remember, it was the same way in my friends '70 C20.

don't really know why you'd want to go through the work for a short term gain. just park her, and build her when funds permit.

Yea i've been thinking about it and i'm not sure if i will be able to convince myself to put the I6 in it since i would be pulling it back out anyway. I actually have a 355 that i built for my 87 4x4 i thought about putting in it but i don't want to rob peter to pay paul if ya know what i mean. plus its only a 2 bolt. Thought about parting out the 87 but i don't know if i can bring myself to part with it since i've been collecting "all of the good parts" as i call them for it.

The motor mounts on a small block chevy are the same as both a big block and inline six.

Default 250 I6 engine perches???

does anyone know where i can find a set of perches that mount to the 250 block that will correct the mount angles to the frame perches? The rubber mounts are the same but i need to find the ones that go in the block to make the angle right.
