Default front diff, I need help

2000 s10 blazer 4x4. Changing front diff outer shaft seal and bearings. Passenger side was leaking, so I am doing both sides. Is there a trick to getting the driver side shaft out of the diff case? Or do i need a bigger hammer?

put a piece of 2x4 on the backside of the shaft from under the truck. Then a few good wacks with a hammer should pop it loose.

Hey. I need to fix the same thing, but only the driver's side. How big of a project is it? I just need to replace the seal. Is it worth $120 to have a shop do it?

Not a bad job if you have tools. I rented a ball joint separator. A pry bar and a thin piece of wood got my axle out. I don’t c paying a shop for this job. This is my first time doing this job. Ask yourself, how much is my time worth? Good Luck!

Well, I have all weekend since work's rained out tomorrow. I may take it on. And maybe bed liner the rockers and such too. I need something to keep me busy! Thanks for the tips.
