Frustrating Problem

the gas smell is normal as well as the carbon levels. egr always dumps more on one side and makes it dirtier. a wet leak will clean a spot to a shine. its hard to see by the pic, so have lines hooked up, cycle key a few times to prime. if u c fuel anywhere, it shouldnt be there. those 2 big fuel feed lines are know to crack and leak too. did u check some sensors first? and u need to check the egr valve itself. unbolt and push the plunger in, it should jump back out nice and smooth and close all the way

you can connect the fuel lines and the connector for the injextors and turn the key on with the upper manifold off and look for a leak. I had one on my 96. needed a new regulator.
