I had the problem with the SES for "coolant below thermostat temp" and had a low reading temp gauge in the instrument cluster so I changed the thermostat and lo and behold the temp on the dash gauge is reading about 3-4 ticks higher and I noticed that the blazer is shifting better and what appears to be less often. During the thermostat change I disconnected the battery for around 40 minutes but when I put it back and fired up the blazer the SES was still on. I figured to do the PCT this comingweekend as the next possible fix. Well today after about 3 days and around 100 miles after the thermostat change(is one of those significant??) the SES goes out. It still shows up when I turn the key on so I know the light is good. What's the deal, did it just heal itself or can I expect this to rear its ugly head again? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not all codes are reset with a battery disconnect. You basically put it through a drive cycle which cleared the codes.
